EFSE signs its largest loan agreement ever: EUR 25 million to Banca Intesa in Serbia

The European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), the world’s largest microfinance investment fund, and the commercial bank Banca Intesa a.d. Belgrade (Banca Intesa), Serbia, today announced the signing of a senior loan agreement. Under the agreement, Banca Intesa will take a loan of EUR 25 million from EFSE. The loan will be utilised for further on-lending to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Serbia, a sector that has been hit particularly hard by the crisis.

EBRD and Banca Intesa financing to businesses in Serbia
The EBRD is increasing further the availability of financing to the real economy in Serbia, with a €30 million credit line to Banca Intesa Beograd for on-lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The credit line is part of the €100 million financing package provided by the EBRD to three of Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s subsidiaries in eastern Europe. more

Banca Intesa to cut down interest rates
Owing to stability and support provided by the Parent Company Intesa Sanpaolo Group, Banca Intesa ensured cheaper sources of finance and thus created conditions to reduce interest rates on retail short-term loans. Favorable conditions shall apply on lending in RSD, and on those indexed in EUR for cash, consumer, car loans and refinancing loans. more

Better Conditions for a New Car
For the occasion of the forthcoming car fair “BG CAR SHOW”, which will take place from 8th to 14th March Banca Intesa has prepared special benefits for the purchase of new cars which will be available throughout the whole of March. All citizens, regardless of whether they are clients of Banca Intesa or not, will be able to apply for a car loan without down payment, with tenor from 18 to 60 months and an effective interest rate of 11 percent at the annual level. Minimum amount of loan is 3,000 euros. All interested citizens have the opportunity of applying for a car loan under special conditions in all branches of Banca Intesa during March. more

In collaboration with Visa, Banca Intesa presented a unique multifunctional Visa electron Easy Travel Card (ETC) intended for students at all universities and colleges in Serbia. This card covers student’s ID card, benefit card and Banca Intesa Visa Electron payment card, meaning than it can be used at the same time for identifying the user, and function both as a classic payment card with numerous facilities; and it additionally combines all advantages that ETC program otherwise offers. more
